Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Richard Musco of Lake Worth, FL has developed a fully automatic sanitizing chemical dispensing system designed to kill Zoogloea bacteria which multiplies inside drain lines causing clogs.

The inspiration came after numerous calls for help from friends whose air conditioners had stopped working due to clogged drainpipes. In a particularly severe case, a friend without a safety float switch experienced a ceiling collapse after their attic unit's water pan overflowed. A few weeks later, another call for assistance to prevent a costly repair led Richard to consider the potential of an automatic dispensing system. Finding no existing solutions, Richard was inspired to invent what would become known as the Zoog Zapper!

The invention is crafted for quick and effortless mounting, utilizing magnets to attach directly to the air conditioner cabinet. It is versatile in its power options, running on either batteries or AC power supplied by a wall transformer. It is equipped with a powerful pump circuit and sophisticated software for optimal operation. The sanitizing agent used matches the active ingredient found in the drain pan tablets approved for use within the air conditioning industry. Its reservoir, capable of holding one gallon of sanitizing solution, provides enough supply to last approximately one year. Multiple connection options enable the output tubing to be easily routed into the internal drain pan, ensuring complete drain system sanitization. For convenience, a pushbutton switch facilitates easy manual activation of the device.
