Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Robert J. Mussey of Mesa, AZ has designed three new exciting and challenging cornhole games that can all be played on the same game set.

Game 1 features traditional cornhole objectives. Be the first player or team to get to 21 and win by 2. In this game, there are 3 different point values. This makes it more conducive to land on the number 21. Each player alternates throwing four bags per round. Whatever hole their bag successfully lands in is the point value awarded. In Game 2, be the first player to cross off each number 3, 2, and 1 four times. Or, be the first team to cross off each number six times. You cross mark a line each time a player or team member gets their own bag in one of the holes. You then get to mark one line off for that number until they are all marked. In Game 3, the point values for each 3, 2, and 1 hole changes to 30, 20 and 10. Each player alternates shots until a player reaches 301. For team play, the score to achieve is 501. The last bag scored in the #1 hole ends the game.

For each game, the boards are positioned facing each other 27' front-to-front. Each game can be played by singles or doubles. When playing singles, each player stands behind the front of the board and throws one bag at a time alternating turns with the other player until each player throws their four bags. Once that round is complete, each player will add his or her score determined by how many bags ended up in any number of holes. Scoring only counts for bags that a player makes in each hole by their own throw. If player B throws his or her bag and it knocks in player As bag, player A is not rewarded any points. This tactic can be used by a player to prevent the other player from knocking in their own bag and scoring those points. Once that round is over and scoring is complete, they walk to the board they previously targeted and begin the next round by throwing toward the other board. This is repeated until the game is won. When playing teams or doubles, a member from each team stands at each board and throws their bags against one another toward the other board.
