Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Gabriel Torrez of Croswell, MI has designed an innovative new concrete finishing trowel.

The idea was born around 2014 when finishing concrete in a pole barn. Gabriel was on knee boards finishing next to the pole on the outside interior wall. He was using a steel trowel with four squared corners, a tool many in his trade use daily. However, trowels like this require an extra step to keep the trowel from leaving a line when you swipe the surface of the concrete. But it is a nice trowel to have to fill in and clean up the concrete by the wall next to the pole. Gabriel was inspired to combine the best attributes of a trowel and create something new and improved. Now, the Steel Gabriel Trowel is ready for market!

This innovative design has two rounded edges and two square edges so workers can cover all concrete areas with just one tool. Made of durable steel, the trowel covers more square footage in a single swipe, and its top-mounted handle makes it easy for both right and left-handed workers to use by hand or with an extension pole. With this tool at their side, concrete finishers will not have to spend as long on their knees, making the work more comfortable and efficient. The tool could also be used for other tasks or jobs as well.
