Inventor Stewart G. Sports of The Villages, FL has created a sprinkler head access device that allows for easy maintenance, repair, and replacement.

For those of us with underground sprinkler systems, we are aware of the time and cost associated with periodic sprinkler head replacement. This task requires the surrounding dirt to be dug up which occupies most of the total replacement time, and labor costs should the job be contracted out. Stewart just knew there had to be a way for homeowners to easily replace sprinkler heads themselves. In turn, he developed the Sports Sprinkler Protector!

The invention takes the shape of a cylinder with a sleeve-style base and two different caps. The first cap is flat with a center hole. The second cap is a two-part split cap in the overall shape of a donut. A center opening in each cap allows a sprinkler head to extend through. Should repair or replacement of the sprinkler head be required, all you have to do is pop the cap off to access the sprinkler head. It is as easy as changing a lightbulb! No digging is required.
