Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Frances C. McFall of Clintwood, VA has created a new face shield with a blue sanitizing light source for an extra level of protection beyond standard personal protective equipment.During COVID-19, mandatory use of face coverings like masks or face shields became necessary. The pandemic taught us we are all susceptible to contaminants in the air we breathe. Although face shields are available in different sizes and designs, they only stop the direct impact of unwanted contaminants whether being inhaled or exhaled. Bacteria and viruses can still work their way around the sides of the shield where they may infect the wearer or those around them. Frances just knew there had to be a better way. In turn, she was inspired to develop the Purelight Shield! The invention features a series of blue sanitizing lights around the perimeter of the shield. The lights help kill hazardous germs, bacteria, and viruses. The shield also has a power source, power switch, and plurality of air vents. It is adjustable to fit all users and is provided with foam rubber cushioning for all day comfort. The wavelength of the bulbs will not harm the skin. The invention will be hugely beneficial for all medical workers, factory workers, and the general public. Want to learn more about the Purelight Shield?
