Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Elda Barrett of Lexington, SC has created a protective padded covering for all interior surfaces of a crib.

Many do not think about the crib when researching childproof devices for their home. However, injuries do occur in the crib when an infant is beginning to stand on their own. Plus, parts of the body may become stuck between components such as railings or the side of the mattress. Elda just knew there had to be a safer way. In turn, she was inspired to develop Pad-a-Crib!

The invention covers all surfaces within a childs reach, including the crib springs under the mattress to prevent a child from getting their body between the frame of the crib and the springs. The padded covering will prevent bruising from falls and keep children from chewing on wooden parts of the crib. It will also prevent their hands, arms, feet, legs, and head from becoming stuck between the rails and slats of the crib. Multiple sizes and styles are possible.
