Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Deborah Eisenberg of Astoria, NY has created a grave footstone drawer for leaving loving mementos behind at a gravesite.

Visiting a cemetery is a somber experience. It can be extra upsetting when you are banned from leaving items at the gravesite of your loved one. After her mother was buried at a Jewish cemetery, Deborah could not bring flowers or even a photograph. It was really hard to accept. She wished there was some kind of drawer available to place special mementos inside for her mom. Deborah knew a feature like this would be so special to so many people. In turn, she was inspired to develop the Memorial Drawer!

The invention permits you to leave items with the person you love. No longer will you have to worry about things being thrown out or getting stolen from their grave. For added security, an optional lock is located on the front portion of the drawer above the handle. This will be a much needed and beautiful feature for use at any gravesite, regardless of policy.
