Story Behind the Invention
As a professional welder for over 30 years, Daryl W. Svendson of Canada has faced many challenging tasks in the field. All the while, he would have to arrange his body into uncomfortable or unsafe positions while breathing in toxic air. Unfortunately, contorting the body into positions like this is a common occurrence since it can be difficult to reach and see different areas while welding. This can lead to chronic back pain. Plus, there is always the worry of toxic air causing lung damage. In this day and age, Daryl knew welders should not have to put themselves in harms way. In turn, he was inspired to develop the Live LED Welding Helmet! The invention allows a welder to view a work area using an LED digital camera on the inside of their helmet. The camera displays in real time the work process being done. This will permit them to work at a safer, more user-friendly position with cleaner air to breathe. Only ones hands will be in the work area, not their face. The Live LED Welding Helmet provides a welcome change to the industry!
