Dual Vein Hydration System

Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Gerald D. Strohl of Ridgecrest, CA has created a hydration system with all the advantages of a conventional back-worn hydration device, but without the involved process of cleaning a conventional bag.

The idea was born while mountain biking with friends at Mammoth Bike Park. Gerald had forgotten to clean his CamelBak the week prior and he was unable to use it. Needing hydration for the day ahead, he stopped at the store and purchased two bottles of water. After removing the water bag, he put his water bottles in his bag and started his day at the bike park. When it was time to stop for water, Gerald went to grab for his straw to drink out of his CamelBak before realizing he didn't have his bag because it was dirty and he had already removed it. He then had to take his backpack off and remove the water bottles in order to drink. That is when the idea hit him. Wouldn't it be easier if he could just connect these water bottles to a manifold and have a straw to drink from? His friends agreed and said they would love to have something like that. In turn, Gerald was inspired to develop the Dual Vein Hydration System!

Instead of a bag, this back-worn system has two bottle ports connected to a convenient output tube. The ports can accommodate many different bottle types including reusable ones to help prevent plastic waste. A valve allows you to switch between bottles without missing a beat. Need a refill? Simply unscrew the bottle and replace it with another. There is even room for a reusable ice pack to keep your drinks cold on-the-go.
