Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Patrick Cannon of Verndale, MN has created a battery-operated biometric scanning device which disables a firearm trigger when an invalid fingerprint is scanned.
All too often we hear of children or other adults who have accidentally been shot with a firearm or have been a victim of a suicide by someone elses firearm. Inventor Cannon knew of two different families that lost children this way, so that got him brainstorming ways it could be made harder for children to use a firearm. There are also times when police officers must fight or wrestle a criminal that is trying to take their gun, only to have their firearm used against them. Shouldnt there be a way to take one small worry off a police officers mind?
These things considered, Inventor Cannon created the Biometric Safety Lock. When an invalid fingerprint is scanned, the gun will not fire. This will save lives! The scanning device will be located along an interior side edge of the firearm grip. When handled by the appropriate person, however, it can be quickly accessed whenever the handgun is needed.
