Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Bianka Sauer of Port Hueneme, CA has created a leash that prevents an animal from moving in front of walkers, runners, and the wheels of wheelchairs and bikes.
One day while she was riding her bike, a woman appeared on a scooter. The woman had a long leash fastened to the handle with a Chihuahua at the end. All of a sudden, the dog came charging at Inventor Sauer! It got itself completely tangled around the front wheel of her bike, causing her to fall on the ground. This made her realize a rigid-type of leash was needed, so she created the B.Smart Leash!
This clever new invention will accommodate dogs of all sizes. It offers a hands-free option so users will be able to hold the hand of their child, exercise, carry a grocery bag, or pick up pet waste. The leash can be rigid or flexible. In its rigid form, it can hook below a bicycle seat, a wheelchair arm, or it can belt around the waist for running, hiking, or roller skating. This will be great for dog walkers in a big city so dogs stay under control. The leash is truly a must-have at airports so trained dogs wont get tangled up in all the travelers running around. It will be especially convenient for airport police, security guards, drugs and explosives sniffing dogs, and attack dogs.
