Story Behind the Invention

Inventors Bryan Femrite and Desiree Hagen of Alexandria, MN have designed a new shade that allows you to embark on all-day UTV excursions with confidence, knowing that you and your belongings, pets, and essential tools are shielded from the elements.

One hot summer, Bryan and Desiree planned to go camping with their dogs near the Canadian border. Anticipating the heat, they realized they needed a way to keep themselves and their dogs cool while riding in the UTV. Unable to find anything in stores, Bryan crafted a shade from a silage bag, cutting two windows and securing it with strong tape. This shade transformed their weekend, allowing them to even extend their stay! Without it, the intense heat would have forced them to cut their trip short. Seeing its success, they were inspired to develop the idea further, and now it is ready for market!

Crafted with a balance of lightweight materials and durability, the invention envelops the cargo area with a shield against the elements. Convenience and ease-of-use is what truly sets it apart. It is equipped with a spring roller, positioned along the upper rear of the UTV cab. With an effortless pull, the shade swiftly unfurls, enveloping the cargo area, ready for any adventure! Securing the shade to the rear tailgate of a UTV is a breeze, thanks to the sturdy snaps that firmly lock it in place. And when it is no longer needed, the shade seamlessly retracts back into its roller and is conveniently stowed away within a matter of seconds!
