Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Pete Benitez of Phoenix, AZ has created a new garment for roofers to reduce slippage on inclined roof surfaces.

Roofing is no easy job. Workers brave scorching heat, haul heavy loads, and try to maintain their balance, all while battling the ever-present risk of slipping on steep surfaces. Thankfully, the Stick Pad provides a solution, delivering both safety and stability on the job.

This anti-slip garment is intended to be worn over clothing at the waist and thighs to increase friction and minimize the likelihood of dangerous slips. Its specially designed foam compresses under pressure, creating a reliable grip on sloped surfaces to keep workers steady. The foam is soft on roofing materials, ensuring finished surfaces remain undamaged. When the foam becomes worn from repeated use, it can easily be removed and replaced using a convenient hook and loop fastener like Velcro. Various sizes are possible.

For Pete, a roofer with over four decades of experience, it has been a game-changer. The invention not only prevents falls, but also helps him save valuable time, making his workday safer and more efficient.
