Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Adam Ringer of Bethel Park, PA has created a device that transforms the tedious, hours-long process of crme wafer baking into a task that takes just minutes!Initially inspired by a Facebook request from a woman who needed a better way to tackle these notoriously tricky cookies, Adam designed a 3D-printed cutter for crme wafers. Traditionally, making these wafers is labor-intensive, often requiring more than one person to cut the shapes and poke holes to prevent puffing due to the butter content. After the initial design gained widespread interest in a Facebook group, some users found the dough sticking to the cutter, leading Adam to refine the tool. The result? A self-ejecting design that lets one person cut the outline, poke the holes, and easily eject the dough with a single push. What was once an hours-long process now takes just minutes, making it accessible for bakers of all skill levels. But how does it work? The invention features a push-plate that is held in place by springs. When you push down on the cutting head, the outline of the wafer is cut, while spikes are pressed into the dough. This compresses the push-plate down on the springs, so that when the pressure is released, the dough is ejected from the cutter. How easy! The Self-Ejecting Wafer Cutter is now ready for market!
