Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Bradley Weis of Morris, IL has created a system to manage the opening and closing boundaries of screen doors.

Conventional screen door systems frequently result in complications, including stretching past their limits, quick deterioration, and possible damage to the door frames. In turn, Bradley was inspired to create the Screen Door Seatbelt! His invention is an adjustable, retractable, and durable system designed to overcome these screen door issues. It marks a significant improvement by enabling precise control over how fast and how far a door opens.

But how does it work? Its dual mechanical adjustments, robust retraction reel, and efficient ball bearing assembly provide precise control over the opening speed and extent of a door. This will increase the lifespan of screen doors, warding off repair costs or even the cost of a whole new door. The invention limits the rotation speed, which is adjustable to your liking. It also limits the overall travel with an ultimate stop, preventing the door from traveling past a certain point. This feature is also adjustable. The unit is retractable and easily removable from a door if needed.
