Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Juan Carlos Trejo of Pasco, WA has created an apparatus designed to hold toggle bolt screws during toggle bolt installation.

Toggle bolts are frequently used to hang a heavy object upon a hollow wall. Toggle bolts utilize a spring that spreads out once in the wall cavity to provide a large surface area to distribute the weight of heavy loads. However, their use requires the time-consuming process of driving in a long screw that is needed to compensate for the bolt wings. This means the user must pull back on the screw while driving it in. Users are known to hold their fingers, a pair of pliers, or another screwdriver, against the screw head while multiple rotations of the screw are performed. The use of an electric drill could speed this process, but the requirement of pulling back on the screw during the driving in process makes this impractical. Inventor Trejo has created a means by which toggle bolt screws can be driven in using an electric drill system without these disadvantages.

This clever new invention allows for quick and easy insertion of toggle bolts in hollow wall cavities. It protects from skinned knuckles, cuts and scrapes. It is available in multiple sizes to fit all toggle bolts. It is great for professional contractors or the serious do-it-yourselfer. It is especially convenient for installing picture frames, shelves, or heavy decorations. The use of the Driver and Holder for a Threaded Fastener provides the ability to install and use toggle bolts with a motorized driving apparatus in a manner which is quick, easy and efficient.
