Crutch Walker

Suffering from Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, Jetta Arbuckle experiences numbness and weakness on her left side, which makes her fall quite often. Due to her condition, using a walker is pretty much out of the question. In order to regain some of her independence, Jetta, along with engineer David Arbuckle, has developed the Crutch Walker to offer an alternative to wheelchairs.

This clever innovation provides for one height-adjustable crutch that comes up from the side support of the walker. The walker support handles are also adjustable, allowing the walker to be customized for any user. The use of spring pin slip fittings allows for adjustments to be made in a matter of minutes without the use of tools. The crutch support can be easily moved from the right to left hand side of the walker by use of a removable clamp system. It is also envisioned that certain models could provide crutches on both the right and left hand side of the walker simultaneously, based upon the needs of the patient. When not in use, the invention folds up in a manner similar to a conventional walker, thus providing a low profile for ease of storage. The use of the Crutch Walker provides a useful walking aid that is effective and easy to use.
