Inventor Francis J. Eckert of Edison, NJ has created a glare and privacy shield for a cellular phone.

While on a summer cruise, Eckert and his wife wanted to take a picture of the Statue of Liberty, however, neither of them could see their phone screen from the deck of the ship. The same thing happened on a trip to Disney. The glare was so bad, they couldnt even find the camera icon on their phone! They had to go into a gift shop just to select the camera app and increase the brightness to maximum, which quickly drained each of their batteries. Unfortunately, this did not work either, so they resorted to taking pictures at random, hoping to capture the subject. Eckert just knew there had to be a better way! In turn, he created this clever new shield.

In addition to blocking that frustrating glare, the invention features a pair of deployable kickstands for hands-free viewing. This will be especially great while flying, since airlines have been encouraging passengers to use their own devices for movie watching, etc.
