Story Behind the Invention

Inventors Ivenia Benjamin and Michelle Morancie have designed a new foot scrubbing device for your home shower!

Ivenia was born and raised on the island of Dominica in the Eastern Caribbean, known as the Nature Island of the Caribbean with 365 rivers. As a child, she swam and washed her clothes in the river. Like many, she also walked barefoot, resulting in cracked and calloused feet. The way everyone dealt with the problem was to find a huge stone in the river, put some soap on the surface to provide lubrication, and then rub their feet on the stone until all callouses were gone and their feet became smooth again. When she became an adult, she began going to salons for pedicures and manicures. However, she ended up contracting a fungal infection at a salon and it took two whole years of prescribed medication to cure the problem. After this experience, she wanted to revert back to the old way of smoothing her feet via stone. Alongside Michelle, the two were inspired to develop Pedi-Joe!

The invention features a specially designed abrasive stone that is secured to the floor of a shower via suction cups. During use, a user lubricates the stone with their liquid soap and water and wets the sole of their calloused foot. The foot is then moved along the length of the invention, permitting a user to scrub the entire foot until their skin is buffed and soft to the touch. The process is then repeated with the other foot. No bending required! Even after a few short sessions, users will quickly notice cleaner, softer feet free of any rough, unsightly skin that can otherwise be present on the heels, balls, soles, or sides of the feet. Results are instantaneous and guaranteed. No salon visit needed!
