Story Behind the Invention
Inventor James Colbert, Jr. of Montgomery, IL has designed a system and method by which decorative holiday lights are applied to tree trunks.
The holiday season is a time of great fun and happiness for almost everyone. A great deal of the holiday cheer comes from the yearly traditions that are passed from generation to generation. One of these traditions that many people enjoy and take great pride in is the decorating of the exterior of ones home with festive lights. Many people apply light strings to tree trunks in their yard in a spiraling manner to produce a unique and eye-catching look. However, such application takes a long period of time. It is also very difficult to determine the proper spacing between wraps and often requires the user to remove and reapply the set multiple times. Such application also stresses the light set causing broken bulbs, broken wiring, and other defects resulting in premature failure and costly replacement. Inventor Colbert has created a means by which light strings can be easily applied to tree trunks without the disadvantages described above.
This clever new invention is coated with green vinyl to prevent corrosion. It also features an attached plug for electrical connection and an integral hook attachment. While the invention is intended to wrap around trees it could also be applied to lampposts and porch posts as well. The use of the Lighted Tree Wrap allows for exterior tree trunk lighting in a manner which is quick, easy, and effective.
