Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Keith A. Jimenez, a plumbing and heating specialist from Denver, CO has created a protective mat that is used to hold a toilet bowl during the installation and/or removal process.

As anyone who has ever installed or replaced a toilet will attest, it is tiring work. Workers must contort their body into small cramped locations and deal with stubborn fittings, leaky connections, rusted fasteners, and heavy toilet bowls and tanks. The odd shape of a toilet bowl coupled with protruding bottom fittings mean that the toilet bowl is wobbly and unstable before it is put into place. Should it topple over, costly damage to the bowl and surrounding surfaces is likely. Additionally, a large amount of water is often present from toilet bowls that are removed. This water is very likely to leak out and damage flooring. Inventor Jimenez was forced to scavenge for plastic, cardboard, carpet tiles, tarps, you name it, in order to protect the floor while replacing toilets. In turn, he created a means by which a toilet bowl can be removed and replaced without issue.

This clever new invention prevents toppling and damage to toilet bowls. It reduces post-project cleanup. It saves time and money. The device is great for plumbing contractors and do-it-yourselfers. It is for residential, commercial, and institutional areas.
