Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Kendrick L. Riley of Kissimmee, FL has created a mattress pad for continuous monitoring of a sleeping patient's internal body temperature. It is very important to monitor the temperature of a sick patient to avoid dangerous or even fatal temperature spikes. When a person is sick, they tend to sleep more often and parents and caregivers must wake them to check their temperature. This interrupts their much-needed sleep and can make them feel worse. Parents often have difficulty sleeping due to worrying over their child's temperature. As a father of four, Kendrick knew the stress and difficulties of monitoring a sick sleeping child. He just knew there had to be a smarter way. In turn, he was inspired to develop Ever Temp! This innovative new mattress pad sends a wireless alert to a smartphone, tablet, notebook computer, desktop computer, or smart home hub whenever the sensors detect a body temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or above. The body temperature sensing mattress pad is comprised of two layers with a soft breathable textile layer quilted on top of a heat-sensing layer for added comfort. Want to learn more about Ever Temp?
