Inventor Eric Bradford of Mount Vernon, IL has created a system and method by which custom exhaust systems can be formed using a template.

Custom exhaust work is typically performed in a repair shop by bending straight pieces of exhaust pipe into complex shapes to allow the pipe to fit on the underside of a motor vehicle. As an owner of a custom exhaust and fabrication shop, Inventor Bradford is well aware that bending pipe efficiently without using several pieces to get it right is a challenge. In fact, people with 40 years of experience in the business still run into obstacles. This inspired him to create a way for the job to be done as easily as possible. This clever new invention mimics all bends and offsets needed on a motor vehicle. It is flexible enough to form by hand but sturdy enough to hold its shape throughout several types of bends.
