Story Behind the Invention

Inventors Christy F. Sorby and John K. Sorby of Byron, MI have created an improved cap for a container that automatically opens to pour when tilted and automatically closes when pouring is complete.

Pouring a substance out of a container can be a messy and complicated process when using one hand. Pouring with both hands is usually necessary and rather inconvenient. In turn, Inventors Sorby saw a need for a cap that could be used on various containers such as beverage liters or 2-liter bottles. The cap would allow for easy dispensing when the container is tipped over and immediate closing when righted. This is when their idea for the Cap with Pour Top was born.

This clever new invention provides for a controlled, one-handed pour. It has a self-opening and closing lid. No mess! No fuss! The device is very sanitary. It can be used to pour liquids or fine grit substances like salt and pepper. It is easy to manufacture. For manufacturing, retail, wholesale, distribution, or licensing opportunities, act now!
