Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Joe W. Broussard, Sr. of Silsbee, TX has created poultry feeders that prevent animals from scratching out their feed and wasting it.
With twenty-four chickens to feed, it didnt take long for Broussard to realize how quickly the feed was going. With store bought feeders, he was going through 100 pounds a week and the chickens were scratching out 50 percent! Half of the food was ending up on the ground and the chickens wouldnt eat it. The same thing was happening when feeding the baby chicks. Broussard knew there had to be a way to stop all the waste. In turn, he developed the Big Tex Poultry Feeders! With this dramatic decrease in waste, he went from needing 100 pounds of feed a week to only 50 pounds every two weeks! And now you can, too!
Users will set the feeder in place, lift the lid, and fill. Poultry will feed through the holes; however, they will no longer be able to scratch out their food! The feeders can be used for chickens, baby chicks, and other poultry like ducks and turkeys. Feeders can be made in a larger size for larger poultry quantity.
