Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Joe Oliveira of Tillsonburg, ON has created a balloon-style attachment for semi-trailers to improve their aerodynamic efficiency.

While much emphasis has been placed on the mileage performance of passenger vehicles, large tractor-trailer rigs are a far bigger user of fuel. Although the same technological advantages that are used on cars can be used on these trucks, one significant disadvantage of the truck-trailer combination which cannot be overlooked is its aerodynamic shape. Their box shape that is beneficial for hauling goods is terrible for traveling down the highway. This poor aerodynamic shape coupled with the high weight of a tractor-trailer rig results not only in poor fuel economy, but also places increased stress and strain upon the engine, transmission, and drive train as well. This poor fuel economy and high operating costs results in not only reduced profits for the owner, but higher cost for all. In turn, Inventor Oliveira created the Air Flow Trailer.

This clever new invention reduces drag and improves performance. It adds only a minimum of weight to a trailer and is more fuel efficient. The device collapses out of the way when not needed. It can be a new option or part of an add-on aftermarket kit. Act now!
