Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Tamyra Young of Sharon Hill, PA has created a temperature-controlled folding table for use at catered events, picnics, parties, weddings, and more!

Since 2011, Tamyra has hosted an annual block party in memory of her son. The party would always fall on a hot day and cold side dishes like potato salad and macaroni salad would soon become unappetizing from the heat. The grilled food would also cool down before it would make it onto some plates. For best taste and food safety, food needs to remain at its intended temperature. In turn, Tamyra was inspired to create a temperature-controlled serving table.

The table features four cutouts approximately the same size as a typical chafing dish or disposable foil pan. The cutouts are provided with insulated mesh bags to help keep the bottom of a food container warm or cold, depending on what is being served. Additionally, a flat folding top can be snapped in place over the table so the invention can be used as a conventional folding table, if desired.
