Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Bruce Gordon Ellis of Kingston, GA has created a collapsible and portable pallet lifter with adjustable skid arms that fold up against the handle section and allow it to be easily lifted, carried or wheeled to specific locations to transport heavy pallets.
Just about all consumer products, food products, raw materials, and the like are transported at one time or another on a shipping pallet. These shipping pallets provide an easy means to move large and heavy materials quickly and effectively. The pallet jack is the primary method for moving pallets from one location to another. These pallet jacks rely on an internal hydraulic jack to move thousands of pounds with the power of only one person. However, the jacks themselves can weigh hundreds of pounds when empty and are difficult to transport. This is especially a problem when a pallet jack is frequently used and must be located and moved each time. It is also a problem for delivery personnel who may show up to a delivery site where a pallet jack is not available and the goods must be carried one piece at a time. Inventor Ellis has created a means by which the functionality and features of a pallet jack can be provided in a lightweight and easy to transport package.
This clever new invention is of aluminum construction. The arms adjust in width. It can be folded or stored easily. It reduces overall weight and is great for delivery trucks. The use of the Collapsible Pallet Lifter provides a portable and easily transportable alternative to conventional heavy pallet jacks that provides for increased productivity and responsiveness.
