Story Behind the Invention

Inventors Danney E. Sweeten and Sharon Sweeten of Montgomery, TX have created a corrective lens adapter for targeting scopes used on rifles, crossbows, and other similar weapons by those who wear reading glasses.

Optical scopes used on high-powered rifles, pistols, and crossbows offer long-range targeting capabilities with pinpoint accuracy. However, many users of these scopes have near vision problems, forcing them to wear reading glasses. These glasses are necessary to properly see through the scope, and view the markings on the lenses. However, the glasses need to be removed when the user looks down range at the object being targeted. This can result in a continuous on-again off-again cycle, which is not only aggravating, but takes time in which the ideal shot can be missed. Inventors Sweeten have created a means by which hunters requiring the use of reading glasses can be afforded the ability to effectively use a hunting scope.

This clever new invention has an auxiliary lens assembly that corrects for user vision problems. It provides the same functionality as a pair of reading glasses. It eliminates having to take glasses on and off while shooting. It increases accuracy and prevents the spooking of targets. The use of the Corrective Lens Adapter for Firearm Scope provides hunting scope users the ability to improve their hunting skill, in a manner which is quick, easy, and effective.
