Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Willard E. Yarbrough of Enterprise, AL has developed along nosed single-hole punch capable of creating holes 4 -1/2 inches from theedge of a standard piece of paper.
The conventionalpaper punch has been around for many years. It does a very good job of producing single holes in pieces ofpaper. However, one severe limitation isthat it is only capable of producing such holes up to about 1-1/2 inches fromthe edge of a piece of paper. This obviouslymakes most of the interior of a conventional 8-1/2 by 11 inch piece of paperoff-limits to the paper punch. Thispresents a severe limitation to those who use such punches to produce answerkeys used to grade tests. Inventor Yarbrough has modified the single-hole punch ina way in which it can punch holes anywhere on a standard piece of paper.
This clever new invention has a plier-like design andnon-slip plastic handles. It is greatfor lightweight synthetics and test answer keys. Additionally, the invention is lightweightand durable. The use of the Elongated Hole Punch allows for theproduction of small holes anywhere on a standard sized piece of paper in amanner that is quick, easy, and effective.
