Story Behind the Invention

Inventors Shirley Amato and Charles Amato of Grove City, OH have created a seat for the bathtub which holds a child while their hair is being shampooed.

Washing a childs hair in a bathtub can be chaotic for both the child and care giver. Many children have a fear of shampoo getting into their eyes. Additionally, the bathtub is hardly known for its comfort. If a child wishes to recline in a standard tub, they must rest their head on an edge, and let their back and spine hang unsupported. Kids who are in this environment are also known to slip and slide and risk hitting their head. A parent or care giver who tries to shampoo the childs hair can often get as wet as the child. Inventors Amato have created a means by which a childs hair can be shampooed in a bathtub, while providing greater comfort and safety for both the child and the care giver.

This clever new invention holds a child in a reclined position. It prevents injury. It keeps a parent or care giver dry. It is height and angle adjustable. It is perfect for children who dont like having their hair washed. The use of the Infant and Toddler Bathtub Chair provides a means to shampoo a childs hair, which is not only quick and effective, but easy on both the child and care giver as well.
