Inventor Larry J. Smith of Lineville, AL has created an assistive device to help disabled users get from a floor based position and into a bed or chair.

Perhaps one of the biggest worries encountered by the elderly, handicapped, or otherwise disabled, is the possibility of falling. Most times after a fall occurs, the assistance of others is needed.  This of course severely compromises the dignity of the person who often feels extreme embarrassment, and loss of independence. Additionally, the risk of injury to the disabled person, as well as the person helping, is quite high. Inventor Smith has created a means by which those with physical disabilities can be easily assisted up off of the floor in an easy and safe manner, for all of those involved.  

This clever new invention is a seat that lifts up to 20 inches off the floor. It preserves privacy and dignity. It reduces stress on care givers. It easily disassembles for traveling or storage. It is ideal for in-home use, hospitals, or assisted living facilities. The use of the Lifting Device allows the physically disabled or elderly to quickly recover from falls, or to get up off of the floor without pain, or inflicting additional injury to themselves or others in a manner which restores their dignity and independence as well.
