Story Behind the Invention

Inventor William Scott Dau of Groveland, FL has created a complete window assembly that incorporates a retractable screen into a window sash.

Traditional window screens are always exposed to potential damage. They can be dislodged due to storms or other inclement weather. They can also be broken when removed for cleaning. In the unfortunate event of a break in, window screens are also subject to damage. Sometimes birds can even harm a screen when trying to reach an insect. Because of these reasons and more, windows would look more desirable if screens werent visible when the window was in a closed position. Inventor Dau has created a means for screens to retract for their protection as well as an increased aesthetic appeal.

This clever new invention improves the look of a home or building. When the window is closed, there is no screen in sight. The device provides a better seal. The window and window frame stay cleaner. The window assembly is less affected by wind gusts or inclement weather. The use of the Retractable Screen Window hides screens for protection, a more attractive appearance, and an unobstructed view, in a manner which is quick, easy, and effective.
