Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Ray A. Jackson and Debra L. Bindel of Surprise, AZ have created an apparatus that fastens the hose of an automatic pool cleaner to the side of an above ground or in ground pool.
Very few leisure time activities rival that of spending a warm summer day in a swimming pool. The relaxation and comfort that is derived from swimming is a healthy benefit for all. However, cleaning a pool is a cumbersome task. Many turn to the use of automatic pool cleaners which clean the bottom and sides of the pool while being tethered to the filter pump by only a hose. While such device works great, it does get in the way when swimming. Many users remove the cleaner and hose from the pool and set it nearby, but this presents several problems. It exposes the cleaner and hose to dirt, grass clippings, and other contaminants which end up in the pool the next time it is used. Additionally, the hose empties of water forcing the user to spend valuable time refilling or priming it the next time it is used. Finally, many users simply forget to replace the automatic cleaner in the pool whereupon it does no good at all. Inventors Jackson and Bindel have created a means by which the benefits of automatic pool cleaners can be easily realized without these disadvantages.
This clever new invention is mounted slightly below the waterline. A base plate attaches to the pool wall. An angled swing arm holds the hose. The hose is released when the sweeper turns on. This safely keeps the hose out of the way of swimmers. The use of the Swimming Pool Hose Holder allows pool owners to utilize automatic pool cleaners to keep their pools clean without the aggravation associated with constantly tending and avoiding the hose.
