Story Behind the Invention

Inventor William R. Blankenbaker, Jr. of Culpeper, VA has created a ring-like apparatus that slips over the end of a thumb to increase ones efficiency when using a small data entry keyboard as found on a smart phone or cell phone.

The development of electronics and computer technology has revolutionized virtually every aspect of our lives. Small electronic devices such as smart phones are incredibly popular. While having such small devices is great for portable operation, their usage is less than ideal, especially for those with large hands and thumbs. Many people resort to pencils, pens, or paper clips to press the buttons, but repeated use with such objects may damage the keys or screen. Inventor Blankenbaker has created a means by which small buttons or icons on electronic hand-held devices can be activated in an easy manner with a general overall increase in accuracy.

This clever new invention reduces damage to cellular devices. It speeds efficiency of texting. It is comfortable with both right thumb and left thumb versions. It adjusts to fit all thumb sizes. The use of the Thumb Stylus allows users to enter data into their smart phones and other electronic devices, in a manner which is quick, easy and effective, and without the disadvantages of present methods.
