Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Jeremy Chevalier of Prince George, BC has developed an add-on kit for helmets which adds voice recognition for portable entertainment systems.

Many riders of motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, and similar vehicles use portable devices for entertainment while they ride, such as an iPod. Control of such devices to change tracks, volume levels, playback modes, and more requires the user to stop the vehicle to operate the device. Trying to perform such tasks while the vehicle is moving is extremely dangerous for the user and those around them. Inventor Chevalier has created a convenient way for recreational vehicle riders to remotely control their portable entertainment devices.

This clever new invention is used in recreational vehicle helmets and is designed for use with MP3 players and iPods. The invention easily attaches to a helmet via adhesive-backed hook and loop fastener, such as Velcro. It includes a chin-mounted microphone with voice activation capabilities and has additional Bluetooth headsets available. The invention can also be set to play certain genres of music for added convenience. The use of the Voice Activated Audio Controller allows the user to listen to and control their iPod or other entertainment device in a manner which keeps their eyes on the road and improves safety.
