Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Quy P. Nguyen, a handyman from Chicago, IL has created a screwdriver that utilizes interchangeable tips, which are stored within the handle via an end-opening screw cap.

Screwdrivers are used in almost all lines of work including mechanic, electrical, and handyman professions. In an effort to save space in toolboxes, manufacturers have responded with screwdrivers with interchangeable bits or tips. This allows one screwdriver to serve the needs of a regular screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, and the like. In order to hold the bit, these screwdrivers use an exterior collar which fits over the bit. However, the large shaft may not fit in confined locations. Also, many screws, especially on electrical equipment, are located at the bottom of an isolation tube, which will not work with a typical interchangeable screwdriver. Inventor Nguyen has created a means by which the usefulness, functionality, and space-saving features of an interchangeable tip screwdriver can be enjoyed, but without the disadvantage of a large diameter shaft.

Snap & Drive features a minimal diameter shaft. Its removable threaded end cap holds extra bits. The device is easy to operate. It has an ergonomic grip handle. It is ideal for any worker.
