Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Lee Ryan of Saskatoon, SK has created a system of drilling templates for cabinetry door installation.

In order to preserve the finish of the cabinets and to provide improved aesthetics, many choose to install functional and decorative hardware. Handles, knobs, or pulls are commonly used to serve these purposes. However, they must be properly installed because crooked or misaligned handles could make a set of cabinets look unattractive and cheap. Many people drill holes through cabinet doors to install this hardware but often times the holes may be placed in an incorrect location, out of alignment, or at an incorrect spacing interval. Once theres a mistake, the door must either be repaired or replaced before a new set of holes may be installed. In turn, Inventor Ryan has created the Reversible Drilling Jig for Cabinet Handles.

This clever new device can be used on a variety of cabinet door hardware from a simple knob to a long-handled pull. Results are fast, accurate, and consistent. It is strong and durable. Its a great tool for do-it-yourselfers and professionals.
