Story Behind the Invention

Inventor David Bishop of Ocean Springs, MS has created a user-friendly door prop system.

Sheds do a great job of holding large tools, supplies, and equipment necessary to care for yards and gardens. They save valuable space in garages as well. However, their doors have a large surface area and are easily blown closed. In some cases, a person can even be closed inside without any light. While a doorstop can be used, many of these doors are located far above grade, making such wedges useless. David was tired of his shed door blowing around and just knew there had to be a better way. In turn, he developed Bishops Door Prop!

When the door prop is needed, simply open the door to fully engage the prop. This will keep the door stationary as you go in and out of the shed, even in high wind. To release the prop after use, push the door open with one hand and with your other hand, pull the vertical rope away from the door hinge. The prop will release and return to its original position. Once the prop is disengaged, the door returns to normal and may be closed and locked or opened again.
