Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Thomas A. Dakin of New Lenox, IL has created a protective shield to prevent tire cleaning or protectant chemicals from getting on the tire rim area of a vehicle.

For many people, their car is a source of personal pride, and keeping it looking good is not just a chore, it is an obsession. Two common car care products are chemical-based tire cleaners and tire protectants. Whether spray or foam, these cleaners work to get road dirt and grime off of the black rubber, outer sidewall area of tires while the protectants add that finishing touch shine. However, these products are also prone to contacting the rim area of the tire. This overspray takes additional time to remove, and may also cause damage to the finished surface area of the rim itself. Inventor Dakin has created a means by which tire cleaners or protectants can be safely applied to tire surfaces without worry.

This clever new invention fits over the entire wheel rim surface. It is compatible with all sizes and types of rims. It is faster, easier, and creates less waste. Its handle design leaves one hand free to spray a cleaner. The invention is great for detail shops. The use of the Tire Detailing Wheel Cover provides a means to clean and protect only the rubber tire area of a motor vehicle wheel while keeping other components clean, in a manner which is quick, easy, and effective.
