How FSBI Works

Your complete 5-step journey from idea to sellable product—with honest, transparent guidance at every stage.

The Inventor's Journey

We do things differently. Instead of rushing to expensive patents, we start with research. Here's exactly how we help everyday inventors succeed.

1

Preparation (SPARK) Start Here

Before spending thousands on patents, fix the inputs first. SPARK takes you from "I have an idea" to a clear foundation and blueprint—so the big moves that follow aren't shots in the dark.

2

Patent Pending (IGNITE)

If research shows promise, protect your idea with a patent. We coordinate with an independent law firm to file provisional, utility, or design patents—giving you "Patent Pending" status at a fraction of typical costs.

Development & Virtual Prototypes

Bring your idea to life without expensive physical prototypes. Our team creates professional virtual prototypes, 3D renders, and technical drawings that show manufacturers and licensees exactly what your product looks like.

How It Works: Step 1 — Preparation (SPARK)

Preparation takes you from "I have an idea" to a clear foundation and blueprint before any big patenting or marketing moves. This step prevents wasting thousands on bad inputs.

DIY + AI (slop)

AI and Google drown you in patents and auto-answers. It's all garbage-in, garbage-out with nobody on the hook if you're wrong.

Patent Attorney (overpriced)

Licensed and official, but expensive—and still guessing from whatever fuzzy search or sketch you bring. You can pay a lot for polished garbage-in, garbage-out advice.

Invention Company (scam vibes)

Big promises and big packages, little blunt truth up front. Hope is the product; you find out later if there was ever a real shot.

FSBI / SPARK (the un-invention company)

Fix the inputs first—real search, clear KISS sketch, then licensed judgment. You get a foundation and blueprint instead of a shot in the dark.

1

Search & GOAT — See the Landscape

Required First Step: $99

Tell us your idea and share any rough sketches or photos. We run a focused search and GOAT-style validation to show you the most similar inventions and what that means.

  • Focused search, not a random patent dump
  • Simple score showing strong, weak, and crowded areas
  • Plain-English summary: "Promising," "Risky," or "Not Recommended"—and why
Example: You think you're first. SPARK shows several very similar products and explains that only a narrow angle is left, so you don't waste years chasing a dead patent.

The patent search and GOAT report are educational tools and not legal advice.

2

Tech / KISS Drawing — Refine the Idea

Optional Add-On: $299 (Recommended)

We take your rough sketch or a photo of your prototype and create a clean KISS graphic that clarifies how your invention actually works—for understanding and refinement, not marketing. Down the road, VIP clients get a full 3D model render.

  • Based on your napkin sketch, photos, or rough prototype
  • Clarifies parts, views, and basic function so everyone sees the same thing
  • Recommended before assessment to help patentability and speed to file
Example: You send a phone photo of a napkin with arrows and scribbles. You get back a clean line drawing with labeled parts that a patent practitioner or manufacturer can instantly understand.

Not full graphic design or CAD. Not advertising art. This is a clarity tool for refinement.

3

Assessment — Your Attorney Picks the Path

Optional Add-On: $499

With search results and (ideally) your KISS sketch in hand, a licensed patent practitioner reviews everything from both a legal and feasibility perspective. Their job is to tell you what kind of protection makes sense—or whether filing is worth it at all.

  • The attorney recommends the right patent type for your situation—you don't have to guess
  • They flag risks and limitations you'd never catch on your own—crowded fields, easy design-arounds
  • You walk away with a simple next-steps blueprint so you know exactly how to move forward
The attorney reviews your results and recommends one of these paths:
Provisional Patent

Fastest path to "Patent Pending." Buys 12 months to develop and test the market.

Utility Patent

Strongest protection. Covers how your invention works—its function and mechanism.

Design Patent

Protects the unique look—shape, surface, and visual appearance of your invention.

Or they may recommend "don't file"—and explain exactly why, saving you thousands.

Example: Your results show a crowded space but one unique mechanism. The assessment says: "Design patent is realistic, utility isn't worth it—here's how we'd frame the design and what to avoid."

Any formal patentability opinion comes from a licensed practitioner and is part of the optional Assessment bundle.

Instead of AI slop or an attorney guessing from fuzzy inputs, this step uses clean research and a clear sketch to give you a real yes/no and path forward.
