Story Behind the Invention

Inventor John Robert Osborne of Christiansburg, VA has created an electrical wiring apparatus that provides for the installation/replacement of wiring devices and boxes as one unit rather than separate components.

Some switches or receptacles see frequent usage throughout the day, and may become worn and need replacing. This forces a worker to deal with cramped and crowded wiring inside of boxes. As most electrical devices are connected to the building wiring system using terminal screws in which the building wire is wrapped around the screw, replacement often requires cutting off a small amount of wire each time. After several replacement cycles, the building wire is often too short to allow for another replacement. This requires the skills and expense of an electrician to replace the building wire. Additionally, remodeling often requires the installation of a new outlet or switch in an existing wall which is very difficult once drywall or other material is installed. Inventor Osborne has created a means by which electrical wiring devices such as switches and receptacles can be installed or replaced easily, without these issues.

This clever new invention eliminates wiring inside of boxes. It saves time and money. It works with outlets, switches, or other common electrical devices. It is strong and durable. It can be used by professionals or do-it-yourselfers. The use of the Electrical Box with Quick-Connect and Release Connection Apertures allows for secure and easy connection of electrical devices, in a manner which allows for future replacement.
