Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Jayne B. Baude of Boynton Beach, FL has created a sun screen apparatus adapted to be drawn from both sides to a center position to more efficiently cover a windshield of a parked motor vehicle.

Anyone who gets into a car that has been parked in the hot sun all day knows just how hot and unbearable the experience is. Time is often wasted while waiting for the car to cool off prior to getting into the vehicle. Once inside, even if there is air conditioning, it takes several minutes before the car is cool enough to be tolerable. Besides causing discomfort, the car interior and contents of the car can also suffer from the heat. Over time, ultraviolet radiation and heat can destroy plastic, fabrics, and the like. A popular tool to combat heat buildup in vehicles is a cardboard shield. Unfortunately, they are unattractive and only provide protection for the windshield. They are also large and cumbersome. Inventor Baude has created a means by which the interior of a motor vehicle can be protected from the effects of sun and heat buildup without the inefficiencies associated with conventional automotive window shields.
