Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Doretha S. Williamson of Darlington, SC has created a window blind system which uses multiple independent opening sections.

Whether a window is on a house or on an office building, the feeling of openness can usually put a person in a better mood. However, people do value their privacy as well. Money on window treatments such as curtains, blinds, and shades is often spent to prevent others from looking in. However, current blind systems either cover the entire window, or are completely open. This poses a problem when trying to block direct sunlight, but still let light into the room. Its also a problem when trying to see outside, but still maintain privacy. Inventor Williamson has created a means by which blinds can be provided with greater functionality in order to address these shortcomings.

This clever new invention is a unique way to decorate ones home or office. One section of the blind system can be completely open, while the other is completely closed. The device permits light while controlling glare. It is highly customizable. The use of the Windows Blinds with Center Opening provides for the use of room blinds while allowing greater flexibility in light, privacy, and viewing as well.
