Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Rafael Juarez of Albuquerque, NM has designed a gardening tool so users can cut down weeds or unwanted thorn bushes with ease!

With a yard comes weeds and sometimes even thorns that grow wild quickly! In Juarezs own backyard, thorn bushes were growing to about a four or five-foot radius and there was no way to approach them. Juarez tried using a machete to cut them at the root, but after ten minutes, his back was hurting, and he was getting nowhere. Instead, he reached for a garden hoe but knew he needed something lightweight and more user-friendly. In turn, he started cutting, welding, and sharpening in his pursuit to develop the Weed Shark!

This new gardening tool features a long handle for better control and reach. Users will simply hold this lightweight tool with both hands and push the blade under an unwanted plant. The Weed Shark will pop up the plant by cutting it at the root. If theres numerous weeds, users will just push the tool ahead to cut down more than one at a time. Its just like a garden hoe, but ergonomically easier on a body, because its always easier to push than pull!
