Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Kaleb S. White of Glen St. Mary, FL designed a way for a guitarist to quickly remove guitar strings without aggravation and without damaging a guitars finish.

It all started while watching a video from one of his favorite bands, Avenged Sevenfold. The lead guitarist of the band, Synyster Gates, loves his floating tremolo guitars. However, when his strings break, the tremolo must be reset by a factory technician or it will never have the same tone. This sparked an idea in Kaleb and he went to his dad with a drawing and they carved the idea into form. Kaleb then started researching how to get his idea, the Tremolo Key, patented. He was in college at the time and the expense of legal fees and engineering led him to leave college and go to work. He devoted almost all his pay toward his idea and a small loan helped him get started on his dream. Sadly, in October 2016, Kaleb was diagnosed with a Calcified Choriocarcinoma of the Pineal gland. Throughout his entire fight, his one driving focus was getting a patent. On October 17, 2017, Kaleb passed away and the very next day, his parents received a notice from the United States Patent and Trademark Office notifying him of his patent. The Tremolo Key is his legacy. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, and there will be an endowment in his name for children to learn how to play musical instruments.
