Story Behind the Invention

Inventor P.J. Kondra of Canada has designed a tie pin to identify the correct spot for tying a knot on a particular tie.Having to re-do anything is an annoying problem. Kondra would often get frustrated when retying his ties in the morning. He tried using buttons on his shirts as guides but almost every tie is different. When youre trying to get out the door in the morning, these little holdups are never appreciated. In turn, Kondra was inspired to design the Tie Guide Pin!

This clever new invention is a small pin, resembling an earring stud, this is used as a tie marker. With the pin in place, users will be able to measure the correct length for tying a knot on that particular tie. The pin is placed on the thicker length of the tie. The shorter, thinner length is drawn down to the guide, providing the perfect predetermined length of slack to tie the knot. Now users will always get the length right the first time!

Its said the average American owns eight ties. With almost 30 million ties sold every year in the United States alone, imagine the global potential then multiply by eight!
