Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Elarde C. Javier of Waipahu, HI has created a hot water recirculation system that provides for almost instantaneous hot water at a usage point such as a shower or tub.

With the recent hike in energy costs, many people are reexamining their home energy usage in an effort to save on the family budget. Whether electrically operated or gas-fired, hot water heaters keep a large supply of water at a constant elevated temperature whether anyone is home to use it or not. Unfortunately, when hot water is needed in a shower, tub, or while washing dishes, the cold water standing in the piping must be drained first. This means waiting with the water running for a period of time, perhaps up to several minutes, depending on the distance from the hot water tank to the point of use. Not only does this impact the users schedule, it also means that a large quantity of clean portable water is simply discarded down the drain with its associated financial and ecological impact. Inventor Javier has created a means by which hot water can be made instantly available without these issues.

This clever new invention eliminates having to run water to get it hot. It saves time on busy mornings. It lowers water/utility bills. It is especially useful in cities with a water shortage. It is great for residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
