Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Thomas E. Hodges of Farmington, AR has created a floating fishing jig that can be left unattended, so you can spend more time with family and friends instead of waiting hours on the water.

As a child, one of his fondest memories was fishing with his father and grandfather. Thomas was inspired to get kids excited about fishing and spending time outdoors with family. The Fish Cradle will allow families to share time together and give kids a better chance of being successful. No longer will you have to hold a fishing reel and continuously check it throughout the day.

The Fish Cradle is an automated device that attaches to a base frame and can hold up to 5 hooks at one time. A radio signal attached to the frame transmits movement (such as a fish taking the bait) to your electronic device. The invention will also allow you to fish at night thanks to the LED lights on the cradle frame.
