Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Rebecca Ferlet of Corsicana, TX has designed portable temperature indicators for food items. The indicators will change color to prevent spoilage and associated foodborne illness.

As you browse the aisles, the food in your cart can actually begin to spoil. After Ferlet returned home with spoiled milk, she just knew there had to be a better way for shoppers to keep an eye on the temperature of the food items they are buying. In turn, she developed the Snowman and Penguin Temperature Indicators!

These unique, portable temperature indicators were designed to be used on food items, primarily dairy products, to identify the temperature of a container. Each device features automatic color-coded indicators that will change color based upon the temperature of the food. This will be ideal for monitoring the temperature of milk, yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, butter, and similar items.
